Chocolate Walnut Cheesecake Slice

Chocolate Walnut Cheesecake Slice is perfect for that office morning tea or to impress your girlfriends. This is a baked recipe that is easy to make. Yum!!

INGREDIENTS

Base

1/4 cup soft butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup plain flour, sifted
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Filling
1/4 cup caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
250g cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup milk chocolate curls

METHOD

Base
Using an electric mixer, beat softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour and chopped walnuts and mix well. Reserve 1/2 cup of crumb mixture. Press remaining crumb mixture into the base of a 20cm rectangle slice tray lined with baking paper. Bake at 180 degrees celsius for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside to cool.

Filling
Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, caster sugar and vanilla essence on medium speed until well blended. Add egg and mix well. Layer chocolate curls over the crumb base and pour cream cheese mixture over the top. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture over the top. Bake at 180 degrees celsius for 20 minutes. Allow to cool in the oven with the door slightly ajar for 30 minutes. Refrigerate for 4 hours minimum. Just prior to serving sprinkle cheesecake with chocolate curls. Remove from tray and cut into equal squares.
